NVIDIA has deepened its partnership with artificial intelligence (AI) cloud provider CoreWeave, committing a $2 billion equity investment to accelerate the buildout of large-scale AI data centers in the US and beyond, according to a statement released Monday.
The investment, made at $87.20 per share in CoreWeave’s Class A common stock, positions the companies to support more than 5 gigawatts of AI factory capacity by 2030, one of the largest planned AI infrastructure expansions globally.
The expanded collaboration reflects surging demand for AI computing power as enterprises, startups and research labs scale increasingly complex models.
The announcement sent CoreWeave shares over 10% in early trading.
Terms of the deal
NVIDIA said the investment underscores its confidence in CoreWeave’s business model and execution as a cloud platform built natively on NVIDIA’s accelerated computing stack.
Under the agreement, CoreWeave will develop and operate AI factories powered by NVIDIA’s latest GPU, CPU and networking technologies, designed to meet rising customer demand for high-performance AI workloads.
NVIDIA will also leverage its financial strength to help CoreWeave accelerate the procurement of land, power and core infrastructure required to bring new data centers online more quickly.
Beyond hardware, the partnership extends to software and platform integration. CoreWeave’s AI-native software stack, including its SUNK architecture and Mission Control orchestration platform, will be tested and validated for deeper interoperability with NVIDIA’s reference architectures.
The companies aim to make these tools available to NVIDIA’s cloud service provider partners and enterprise customers, enabling more standardized and efficient AI deployments.
Infrastructure expansion
CoreWeave will also deploy multiple generations of NVIDIA infrastructure across its platform, including early adoption of the NVIDIA Rubin computing platform, Vera CPUs, and BlueField storage and networking systems.
This multi-generation approach is designed to future-proof capacity as AI models continue to grow in size, complexity and production use.
“AI is entering its next frontier and driving the largest infrastructure buildout in human history,” NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang said, describing AI factories as the foundation of a new industrial era. He said CoreWeave’s execution speed and operational expertise are critical to meeting unprecedented global demand.
CoreWeave CEO Michael Intrator said the partnership is rooted in the belief that AI systems perform best when software, infrastructure and operations are designed together. He noted that NVIDIA remains the most requested computing platform across all phases of AI, from training to inference, as AI systems move into large-scale production.
The expanded collaboration builds on CoreWeave’s purpose-built cloud platform and positions the company as a central player in the next wave of AI infrastructure development.
