Chanel has named BTS star Jung Kook as its new global ambassador for fragrances and beauty, tapping one of the world’s most influential pop artists as the luxury house sharpens its appeal to younger, global consumers.
The French fashion and beauty giant announced the partnership earlier this month, describing Jung Kook as a figure who embodies both creativity and modernity. The role will see the 26-year-old singer front Chanel’s fragrances and beauty campaigns worldwide.
Creative partnership
“Chanel is delighted and honored to welcome Jung Kook as a global ambassador,” said Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, head of global creative resources for fragrances and beauty. “He is an inspiration for the new generation, bringing passion wherever he goes.”
Jung Kook, the youngest member of K-pop phenomenon BTS, has built a powerful global following both as part of the group and as a solo artist. Known for his versatility as a singer and songwriter, he has released popular solo tracks including “Euphoria,” “My Time,” and “Still With You,” and collaborated with international artists such as Lauv and Charlie Puth. He also performed “Dreamers,” the official soundtrack of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, further cementing his global reach.
K-pop power
In 2023, Jung Kook launched his solo career in full with the single “Seven (feat. Latto),” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and earned platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. The success was followed by “3D (feat. Jack Harlow)” and his debut solo album, “Golden,” which showcased his crossover appeal beyond K-pop.
“I am truly delighted to join Chanel Fragrances & Beauty,” Jung Kook said. “Chanel is a pioneering house that cherishes its timeless heritage while constantly reinventing itself with modernity. As an artist, I try to stay true to my own style while embracing new challenges.”
Chanel said the appointment reflects its broader strategy of collaborating with artists who influence contemporary culture and shape new creative directions.
By aligning with Jung Kook, the brand is strengthening its presence in the fast-growing Asian beauty market while reinforcing its global cultural relevance.
